THE CREED
Not declaring our faith in God is the greatest act of cowardice we can
commit.
THE Creed is a decalogue where our faith in God the Father, the Son and the
Holy Spirit is contained. In the Creed we briefly state all that we know,
believe, and understand about God. The Creed is not exclusive to Constantine or
Nicaea, from the Old Testament archaic Creeds are read until they evolve to
those we know: The Apostolic, the Roman and a few others that are used in the
congregations. Unfortunately, the church has them in disuse due to false
religiosity and tradition, but the Creed also helps us, in times of difficulty,
to easily remember why we are waiting on God and where we are going.
"Or what reward will man give for his soul?"
Mark 8. 37
Our reward is eternal life. But this does not imply that we should not live
heaven here on earth, on the contrary, when we manage to understand and live
the love of God, we make a life as in Paradise despite the problems. Therefore,
when we remember our faith in the Son of God, and in the rest of the points of
the Creed such as the resurrection of the dead, eternal life, the communion of
saints, etc. We find peace in the midst of trials and difficulties.
"For whoever will be ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and
sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him, when he comes in
the glory of his Father with the holy angels"
Mark 8. 38
In this verse, Jesus Christ reminds us of the importance
of confessing it and not being ashamed of being a Christian. On the contrary,
when Jesus of Nazareth declares that we are in the middle of a society that
denies God, we must be those who shine justly by confessing him and
demonstrating that he lives in each one of us. So let us be those torches that
shine in the dark and let us be that beacon that illuminates all human beings
who are searching for God.
