UNDERRATED
To love others we first have to love ourselves.
WITHIN the process of acceptance towards others, we will find those barriers that
are insurmountable. All human beings have existential deficiencies that only
God can supply, therefore, we try to accommodate others to have that required
group acceptance. Every now and then, an extra ordinary person emerges and
breaks those melds in a natural way influenced by the Spirit of God. This is
when we can find people who inspire and encourage us because their lives are a
process of constant transformation and where they have arrived, we also yearn
to arrive. In the Bible, we have the greatest example Jesus of Nazareth. In
these next days we will briefly address a great biblical character John the
Baptist.
"And they asked him, saying: Why do the
scribes say that it is necessary for Elijah to come first?"
Mark 9. 11
Marking that difference between John the
Baptist and Jesus Christ, Mark reveals the truth of Jesus releasing John to a
secondary but decisive role in the ministry of Christ. John the Baptist was
that character that the prophet Isaiah said would pave the way for the
extension of the kingdom of heaven to advance and establish itself on earth.
John the Baptist, was clothed with the same power and authority that the
prophet Elijah had, this does not mean at all that the prophet Elijah became
incarnate in John, it means that the same fruits of repentance and approach to
the kingdom of God that were manifested in Elijah, they will now be manifest in
the life of John.
“Answering him, he said to them: Elijah indeed
will come first, and will restore all things; And how is it written of the Son
of Man, that he suffers much and be had in nothing? "
Mark 9. 12
In the Bible there are few things to discover,
but thousands to reveal. What was spoken of John the Baptist was also written
of Jesus Christ. I believe that as human beings we are predestined by God to
know him and willingly accept a lifestyle that brings us closer to God. This
approach will lead to our being undervalued just as Christ, John, the apostles
and many other heroes of the faith were rejected and undervalued. But, if Jesus
Christ the Son of God was rejected, why should we fear the little appreciation
that others make of us? Let us take up the Cross of Christ every day and follow
the good path that will lead us to extend the kingdom of heaven among the
nations.
God bless you.
