NONETHELESS
God knows our past, present and future, despite everything we have
experienced, he loves us.
ONE of the human endeavours most at risk of failure
is world evangelization. With all that, Christ was very clear when declaring:
Therefore, go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of
the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. By evangelizing we bring
the good news of salvation both to human beings and to the socio-cultural
environment that surrounds them. In other words, when the Mind of Christ acts
in any individual, his world will change and he will be able to allow creation
to see the love and power of God manifested. However, the task of
Evangelization is not easy at all, the human being always presents excuses for
not assuming responsibilities. In any case, he will always throw the balls out
and thus avoid compromise with both God and creation.
"Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him,
and said to him: One thing you lack: go, sell everything you have, and give it
to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, taking
up your cross ."
Mark 10. 21
I have always wondered: How did Peter see that
Jesus of Nazareth loved this person knowing that this is a non-tangible
feeling? And wondering a bit, perhaps, was this a later topic of conversation
between Jesus Christ and the apostles? God is always willing to love us despite
our denial or rejection. God will always give more despite our little reward.
God is love and manifests it through every act of miracle in our lives.
"But he, afflicted by that word, left sad,
because he had many possessions."
Mark 10. 22
Another series of questions I have asked myself
has been: Who would this individual have been if he accepted the invitation of
Christ? Would we be reading his apostolic letters today? What spiritual peak
would this human being have reached, if his attachment to the material had not
limited him? And today we should question and reflect that, although we are
Christians, what is missing to surrender to God and allow ourselves to be used
by him for world evangelization? Will we be the next spiritual reformers? Will
we write new dogmas or will we take the church of Christ to the next step to be
recognized and accepted by all mankind?
