CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL - YOU ARE READY?

CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL

YOU ARE READY?

Believing that we are in the correct and appropriate place, we could consider that we are prepared.

3,2,1 ready now ... is the expression that every competitor wants to hear to show that he is ready to reach the goal and challenge himself and achieve his personal goals. Soon in England will be held "The Iron Man" which consists of a medium distance triathlon event, consisting of 1.9 km of swimming, 90 km of cycling and 21.1 km of athletics. It is simply an impossible exercise for me to do, because honestly I am not prepared to take my body to that terrible limit. I have a friend in Garforth who prepares himself physically, mentally and spiritually for this event throughout the year. I have observed him, after half a marathon, 6 hours of cycling, I imagine that he will have a special diet and that he will prepare in swimming. He may not seek to win, but he sure does seek to reach the goal and achieve the goal of challenging himself; "Good luck G".

In the Christian life it is similar, we have long-distance Christians, others will be half a mile and others who do not exercise, much less prepare for life. So, starting from this premise, we have to ask ourselves, are we prepared for the challenges that God entrusts us with and overcome the rigors of life?

“They said: We can. Jesus said to them: Truly, from the cup that I drink, you will drink, and with the baptism with which I am baptized, you will be baptized;”

Mark 10. 39

Jesus of Nazareth is our paradigm to follow. Every example of challenge, and struggle in life that we need to imitate in it we will find. In the family, in finances, in health, in work, in food, in companies, in short, everything we need to live and be prepared we can take from Christ, either in the Gospels because  He spoke personally or because some of the apostles in their theology knew how to write it down and leave it shaped so that we can delight in its truth, love and power.

"But to sit on my right and on my left, it is not mine to give, but to those for whom it is prepared."

Mark 10. 40

However, as much as we consider that we are prepared and trained to do many things, there are others that are reserved for a few. We must recognize that it is the Holy Spirit of God who enables and prepares the brothers for the tasks of the church and thus, extend the kingdom of heaven. Let us not pretend to open doors that are closed to us. Do not assume roles that do not correspond to us. Let God be God and let him act according to his holy and perfect will.

God bless you.
