FIRST WARNING
God never stops speaking to us and warning us of what is to come.
WHO has not
wanted to know the future in order to make better use of the time he has in his
hands? For this, many resort to consulting fortune-tellers, gurus, or seek to
read it in tarots, card reading and all kinds of witchcraft or sorcery that is
still pure and harsh mental manipulation in favour of those who consult it. In
our case, Christians rely on what God tells us through the Scriptures and
emphasize our relationship with the Holy Spirit. There are many occasions that
I had to minister to people because they say that God does not speak to them.
But the truth is different, God never stops talking to us and always tells us
about his plans before they happen. The question that clearly fits here is:
what is the type of relationship we have with God that we do not listen to?
We are talking about the last hours of Jesus of
Nazareth, and we are going to find Peter's denial. We will see it in several
days. But, what I want us to see is that Peter should not be surprised by what
happened to him, let's remember what Jesus Christ told him a few hours before:
Then Peter said to him: Even though everyone is scandalized, I am not. And
Jesus said to him: Truly I tell you that you, today, tonight, before the
rooster has crowed twice, you will deny me three times.
“WHILE PEDRO WAS DOWN, IN THE PATIO, ONE OF THE SERVANTS OF THE HIGH PRIEST CAME; AND WHEN HE SAW PEDRO WARM UP, LOOKING AT HIM, HE SAID: YOU WERE ALSO WITH JESUS THE NAZARENE.”
Mark 14. 66-67
Not six hours had passed and what Jesus of Nazareth said was being fulfilled. Let us see how Luke reflected these eschatological words for Peter: »Simon, Simon, see that Satan has asked to shake you as if you were wheat. But I have prayed for you, so that your faith does not fail. And you, when you have returned to me, strengthen your brothers. So, this denial of Peter, the heavens were waiting for him. On the other hand, it had to happen that way, for the Apostle to minister in faith and perseverance to others. Because there is no better way to teach our own, from our own experiences and experiences. It is very easy to do a sermon on someone else is desk. However, the compelling discourse is that it is born from a heart hardened by experience.
“BUT HE DENIED, SAYING: I DON'T KNOW HIM, NOR
DO I KNOW WHAT YOU SAY. AND HE CAME OUT AT THE ENTRANCE; AND THE ROOSTER
CROWNED.”
Mark 14. 68
This is the first warning of three that Peter
will have to live. And if it were us and in the midst of this very fragile and
liquid society, it is most likely that we will not get up from this hard fall.
Today we know the story, Peter was the visible successor of the ministry of
Christ. Today we have the church that we have because of the legacy and wake
that a reckless and sincere man left us but with a pure heart for seeking the
Kingdom of God and extending it where he will send him to preach. Let us take
an example and imitate the good that Peter left us, let's extend the kingdom of
heaven.
