CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL
HUMAN JUSTICE
We ask for an audience to see a king, however we have direct access to God.
THE paradoxes of the human life system, honestly, are almost impossible to fulfil. Today, in my daily meditation, I commented to God how privileged I was to be able to be in his presence despite my mistakes, sins and perhaps my bad lifestyle. Here in the UK we have a very close and friendly monarchy, but not for that, you can go to Buckingham Palace and say: “hey, I came to have tea with Aunt Lilibet”. There is no protocol and you must comply with some ways of speaking and behaving in front of her. However, in spite of everything, that is to say: there is no just man, we sin easily because to sin is to make mistakes, we shout, we get angry, we lie, in short; the list is too long to list. However, despite the fact that he may seem heretical, God waits for us every day to dine with us.
“YOU HAVE HEARD THE BLASPHEMY; WHAT DO YOU THINK? AND ALL OF THEM CONDEMNED HIM, DECLARING HIM TO BE WORTHY OF DEATH.”
Mark 14. 64
Many times I have been called heretic. But in reality, these are the words of the human being, trying to do his own justice. As I have said on other occasions, our justice has nothing to do with Divine Justice. As human beings, we are delusional and daring to consider that our thoughts have something to do with God's way of thinking. Let us remember what the prophet said: Because I know the thoughts that I have about you, says God, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you the end you hope for.
“AND SOME STARTED SPITTING ON HIM, AND COVERING HIS FACE AND PUNCHING HIM, AND SAYING: PROPHETY. AND SHEEPERS SLAPPED HIM.”
Mark 14. 65
I do not wish to overlook the suffering that Jesus of Nazareth had to go through for each one of us. But, following the thread of what we are talking about, we cannot expect anything good from human justice. When they want to blow us up and when we want to destroy any individual, we are honestly experts. Let us learn to trust God and be sure that if they do not attack us, it is because we are not doing anything. Jesus of Nazareth had his face smashed, humiliated and mistreated because he was exposed to the extension of the Kingdom of God with all his life. Let us take this example to find out what to do, even knowing that we cannot trust or expect anything from human justice.
