CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL - YOU SAY IT

CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL

 YOU SAY IT

When they want to accuse us, they will resort to any kind of trickery.

I  HAVE had the opportunity to see several documentaries about the trial of Jesus of Nazareth. I have also seen some about the physical suffering he had to undergo which we will talk about in another devotional. Regarding the trial, it was plagued with irregularities, which made it clearly an illegal trial. But, the fate of Jesus Christ from his birth was cast, his final destination was the Cross. Theologically speaking, Jesus of Nazareth perfectly embodied the suffering Messiah spoken by the Prophet Isaiah: despised and rejected among men, a man of sorrows, experienced in brokenness; and since we hid his face from him, he was despised, and we did not esteem him. Certainly he bore our diseases, and suffered our pains; and we considered him to be whipped, wounded by God, and beaten down. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our sins; the punishment of our peace was upon him, and by his stripes we are healed. All of us have gone astray like sheep, each of us has turned his way; but God carried on him the sin of all of us. He was distressed, and afflicted, he did not open his mouth; as a lamb he was led to the slaughter; and as a sheep before the shearers of him, he was speechless, and did not open his mouth. By prison and by judgment he was taken away; and his generation, who will tell? For he was cut off from the land of the living, and by the rebellion of my people he was smitten. And he made his grave with the wicked, but with the rich was in his death; although he never did evil, nor was there any deceit in his mouth. And for all this that the prophet predicted eight hundred centuries earlier, Jesus of Nazareth, upon rising, became Jesus Christ.

"VERY MORNING, THE MAIN PRIESTS HAVING COUNCIL WITH THE ELDERS, WITH THE SCRIBES AND WITH THE WHOLE COUNCIL, THEY TAKEN JESUS ATTED, AND DELIVERED PILATO TO HIM."

Mark 15. 1

Something that we must bear in mind is that Jesus of Nazareth was born as the Son of God, but by surrendering himself despite the injustices committed against him, he made him become the Messiah and the Christ. Both very similar theological concepts were developed by him, by his own will and of course, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Another factor to take into account on the part of Jesus of Nazareth was the absolute and permanent dependence on carrying out the will of the Heavenly Father. Jesus spent entire nights conversing and searching in his presence. Since he was a child, he sought him out and spoke of the truth about him in all the places that he was: And it came to pass that three days later they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors of the law, listening to them and questioning them. And all who heard him marvelled at his intelligence and his responses.

“PILATO ASKED HIM: ARE YOU THE KING OF THE JEWS? ANSWERING HE, SAID: YOU SAY SO.”

Mark 11. 14

You say so, that is, even if the world is upon us, the truth will always precede us. If we try to follow the path that led Jesus of Nazareth to become Jesus Christ, that is, seek the guidance of the Spirit, depend exclusively on the orders of the Heavenly Father, and lead a life of permanent communion with Christ, it will allow us to see that the Truth which is Jesus Christ himself: Jesus said to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me. So he will give us freedom and security, day after day.
