DIED FOR HIS CAUSE
Only passion for our purpose will make us go crazy.
I really like movies especially those of war
genre. I am surprised to see, for example, the patriotism shown by American
soldiers. Rambo, for example, he is unique and capable of facing an army by
himself not only for his country, but for anyone else who is in need. Another
example would be those films of self-improvement where the protagonist begins
to climb a mountain and no matter how hard it may be, the difficulties that
arise will be overcome by that love they feel for his passion; a good testimony
of this is the British Bear Grills, where we have seen it rummage even in the
waste of bears to survive. But, the most significant films or series for this
devotional would be those where the protagonist dies climbing that mountain, or
the soldier loses his life at the last moment for the freedom of the people or,
as in Schindler's List, the protagonist dies poor, but with the great
satisfaction of knowing that he has managed to save the lives of many Jews from
the extermination chambers. In the same way, we can have the image of Christ,
he died for his own cause, in which he believed that the human being returned
to have communion with God and all the cosmic disorder generated by the fall of
man, returns to its state original.
“AND THEY GAVE HIM TO DRINK WINE MIXED WITH
MIRRA; BUT HE DIDN'T TAKE IT. WHEN THEY CRUCIFIED HIM, THEY DISTRIBUTED THEIR
DRESSES OF HIM AMONG THEMSELVES, CASTING LOTS ON THEM TO SEE WHAT EACH ONE
WOULD TAKE.”
Mark 15. 23-24
What Jesus of Nazareth had to live was incalculable and impossible to
quantify unless we understand that he died for his cause, that is, Jesus Christ
knew perfectly that becoming our saviour and liberator would not be easy at
all; Who dehydrated wants him to provide vinegar? We all wish we received
water, and if we can ask for a better isotonic drink. We could consider that
the Kingdom of Heaven is looking for people who wish to die for its cause and
surrender to the point of dying for making the extension of the kingdom of
Christ a reality or at least falling asleep in the attempt to make it a
reality. And it is that lack of passion to die for our life purpose is what is
killing the Church of Christ.
“IT WAS THE THIRD HOUR WHEN THEY CRUCIFIED HIM.
AND THE WRITTEN TITLE OF HIS CAUSE WAS HIS: THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
Mark 15. 25-26
The King of the Jews, for this
Pontius Pilate had to condemn him even though he was aware that he was not guilty
of any of the charges against him. But when the truth is ahead, she herself
will support us. Let us therefore learn to be individuals willing to give
everything for the extension of the kingdom of Christ, either by friendly
action or by giving everything until we die for the cause of Christ.
