CLEAN WHEAT

Who is without sin cast the first stone.

I KNOW a pastor who has a bad habit of judging everyone. And his reflection on people culminates with the phrase: "he or she is not clean wheat." For many years, I tried to analyse this phrase and with surgical rigor, I understood that the only way to understand that a human being is not clean wheat, is because I have previously been a person without clean wheat. This reminds me of the time they asked Jesus Christ to pass judgment on a woman and he wisely said: The teachers of the law and the Pharisees then took a woman caught in adultery, and putting her in the middle of the group told Jesus: Master, this woman has been caught in the very act of adultery. In the law Moses commanded us to stone such women. What do you say? With this question they were laying a trap for him, to have something to accuse him of. But Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground with his finger. And, as they harassed him with questions, Jesus stood up and said to them: Let the one of you who is without sin cast the first stone.

 

"WHAT SHALL WE SAY THEN? IS THE LAW SIN? IN NO WAY. BUT I DID NOT KNOW SIN EXCEPT THROUGH THE LAW; BECAUSE I DID NOT KNOW GREED, IF THE LAW DID NOT SAY: YOU SHALL NOT GOVE.”

Romans 7.7

 

The Gospel of Christ, incorporated into our minds through the Mind of Christ, makes us aware of our true nature and tendency towards evil. Yes, unfortunately we are like that, we like to be rebellious, anarchic, problematic. We tend to regret it and in return, we return to our tendency to do things missing the mark. Perhaps for this reason, the Proverb says: Like a dog that returns to his vomit, So is the fool who repeats his foolishness.

 

“BUT SIN, TAKING AN OCCASION THROUGH THE COMMANDMENT, PRODUCED ALL GREED IN ME; BECAUSE WITHOUT THE LAW SIN IS DEAD.”

Romans  7.8

 

Let us take the example of Christ, let us not judge, because we are not in a position to do so against anyone. The Gospel of Christ frees us from the ties of prejudice and judgment towards others. This Gospel, that of Christ, makes us understand that no one is perfect before God, but thanks to him, Jesus Christ, we are justified, we have grace and divine mercy, which brings us closer to the throne of God's majesty.
