WE HAVE TO TALK ABOUT IT

Even if we keep quiet, the stones will speak for us.

A good question that we can ask ourselves today is, how do we preach God and his Kingdom of justice and love, in the midst of a society that wants nothing to do with him? Another good question to analyse is: how will we update the ecclesiastical concepts while preserving the essentials of the Gospel of Christ but bringing the congregation to the needs of twenty-first century society? As a preacher of the Gospel of Christ, I have to face these difficulties in each of the teachings that I prepare and that I share in different groups that invite me. On some occasions, I have had to keep silent because I do not know the socio-cultural situation of the listeners and on others, I have simply been wrong, with it, I have offended many, but it has never been maliciously. What I do have clear is, I have to talk about Christ, because if not, I am directly responsible for the souls of those people that God puts in my path.

“HOW THEN SHALL THEY CALL ON HIM IN WHICH THEY HAVE NOT BELIEVED? AND HOW WILL THEY BELIEVE IN THE ONE OF WHOM THEY HAVE NOT HEARD? AND HOW CAN THEY HEAR WITHOUT A PREACHER?"

Romans 10.14

The Gospel of Christ will advance and spread, regardless of whether we act or not. If today, we do not want to evangelise (talk about the Good News of Salvation) to the people around us or that God puts around us, rest assured that God will send someone to do it. Moreover, if that other person sent by God does not want to do it, that is, preach the Gospel of Christ, the response of Jesus Christ is: He (Jesus of Nazareth) answered and said: I tell you that if these keep silent, the stones will cry out.

“AND HOW SHALL THEY PREACH IF THEY ARE NOT SENT? AS IT IS WRITTEN: HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO ANNOUNCE PEACE, OF THOSE WHO ANNOUNCE GOOD NEWS!”

A lie that I must uncover is: only missionaries and preachers should bring the Good News of Salvation to humanity. Jesus Christ entrusted this work to all Christians by means of the Great Commission or the Great Mandate: And Jesus approached and spoke to them saying: All power has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit; teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and behold, I am with you every day, until the end of the world. Amen. We do not wait to be sent by a congregation or to be ordained to preach the Gospel, because the words of Jesus Christ were very clear and today we are asked about them: I require you before God and Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and to the dead both for his manifestation and for his kingdom: Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; convict, rebuke, and exhort with all patience and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; rather, having itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers according to their own passions, and, while turning their ears away from the truth, they will turn to fables. But you, be sober in everything, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist; fulfil your ministry.
