CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL
EVERYTHING FOR BUILDING
Every divided kingdom will be defeated.
THE worst scourge that our society is experiencing is the internal division that we sustain. In this same way, the Church of Christ suffers this same evil. Just as borders between countries, dogmas and doctrines have built a protective fence for each church that follows this philosophy. The issue is very serious, because everything we do, we must do it for the edification of others. When I was very young, I was raised Catholic. Then in my teens, I began to walk together with Jesus Christ and I did it in a Pentecostal congregation. A couple of years later, I was meeting in a Protestant Episcopal church. Throughout my time in Spain, I did it as a Pentecostal again. Now in England, God has allowed me to congregate again in an Episcopal church, but always with the idea that neither the dogmas or doctrines would separate me from the service, dedication and edification of the Church of Christ.
“THUS, WE WHO ARE STRONG SHOULD BEAR THE WEAKNESSES OF THE WEAK, AND NOT PLEASE OURSELVES.”
Romans 15.1
Let us pray together: Jesus Christ I have accepted you as my Saviour and King. I confess: I no longer live but you live in me. I fervently long to meet you in such a way that your Mind acting in me is real. As a follower of yours, Christ understands that I am a priest of your kingdom and I must do everything to edify the whole world.
One of the advantages of having a tutor is being able to take shortcuts, because of what they have learned in difficulties. I explain myself with this simple example: the shepherd who guides me is. Pastor Antonio Selma. He has been in the ministry for many years and is now retired himself. All the difficulties that come my way in the church, in the family, in marriage, at work, Antonio Selma has already experienced them and, of course, he has overcome them. At the moment, when these problems arise, I try to talk to the pastor and when I listen to his solutions, I take that shortcut and after reflecting that if I can imitate him, I will do it. In this way, the strength acquired by Antonio, serves for my edification and growth. I am not limited by dogmas and I do not allow divisions to exist between us, by ages and cultural concepts. I just hope that other people can take something from me and build them up in their lives.
“LET EACH ONE OF US PLEASE HIS NEIGHBOUR FOR HIM IN WHAT IS GOOD, FOR EDIFICATION.”
Romans 15.2
Let us pray together: Jesus Christ, you have taught me that I must love all humanity. In the same way, you tell me that I have to bless my enemies. And now, I understand that I always have to build the lives of my friends, brothers, colleagues, help me, then, to follow your example and reach your stature.
All of us who consider ourselves Christians contribute to the building of this society. Our goal should be: to stay in unity so that we grow together. We should not allow anything to divide us. Let us pray together for the countries that are in armed conflicts. Let us cry out to God for the abandoned children. Let us implore God for the displaced worldwide. We must not allow religious resources to separate us. Let us take advantage of the fact that we are children of God, to build a society such as God wants.
God bless you. Remember to share this text to all the people you can.
