CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL
UNITED IN CHRIST
There is nothing more devastating than a divided house.
THANK GOD my parents have never separated. Not for that, I have had to live as a family, very unpleasant moments. There is no married couple that does not argue, that has differences, even, I do not know the first married couple that had not fought strongly in their relationship. The differences in our characters will make us see things from different perspectives. Another fact to take into account is the sociocultural level to visualise the resolution of conflicts even within couples. For example, despite being married to Ani for 25 years now, she is much more mature than I am in solving problems. The fact that Ani has academic knowledge that is different from mine allows her to solve some issues in other ways that she had not taken into account. So, in the end, what is really going to allow us to survive is being with one accord in Christ.
“BUT MAY THE GOD OF PATIENCE AND CONSOLATION GIVE YOU THE SAME THOUGHTS AMONG YOU ACCORDING TO CHRIST JESUS, SO THAT WITH UNANIMOUS, WITH ONE VOICE, YOU MAY GLORIFY THE GOD AND FATHER OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.”
Romans 15.5-6
Let us pray together: Father God, remaining united to you guarantees me to enjoy the joy of Salvation. Remaining unanimous with my brothers will help me enjoy this earthly life, while I transit towards eternity. Help me in the Name of Jesus Christ to reach this complicated goal, to be unanimous with others to extend your precious kingdom.
I can understand that religiosity has nothing to do with the freedom given by Christ. However, I must also understand that thousands of people worldwide cannot see God if it is not through religiosity. Furthermore, I must be willing to work with whom I understand God is sending me to work with, even if he is religious, if with this I get the Kingdom of Heaven to reach more people. Once again, I will explain it with an example: at the end of this week there will be a meeting between the pastor of my congregation and the Catholic priest of the town where I live, so that we unify the youth groups and I can pastor both groups at the same time. I know in advance that many will criticise me, but if God sends me to do it, rest assured that I will do it. Because I work for God and not to please human beings.
“THEREFORE, RECEIVE ONE ANOTHER, AS CHRIST ALSO RECEIVED US, TO THE GLORY OF GOD.”
Romans 15.7
Let us pray together: Jesus Christ, your grace, love and mercy precede me. Therefore, I beg you to guide all my steps to do the will of the Heavenly Father. Strengthen me in the moment of trial and criticism. Help me to be one with all of us who are willing to extend your kingdom.
On some occasion we have questioned ourselves, how far could we go if we unified to cry out to God for world peace? I do not believe in ecumenical movements, because I have nothing to do with different beliefs or having a god other than the one God, however, if we could gather under the same sentiment all the Christians of the city, this as a minimum and regardless of the dogma that guides us, will be the desire for unanimity that the Apostle is speaking in this case. Let us therefore be obedient to the apostolic mandate and unify to raise our voice and thus glorify our Heavenly Father in the Name of Jesus Christ.
God bless you. Remember to share this text to all the people you can.
