CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL
THE POWERFUL PRAYER
Instead of despairing, let us pray to God.
A very short time ago, at home, we suffered a terrible accident. One of my sisters, in her workplace, had an accident with fire. Her limbs and part of her torso were compromised. Of course, this is a difficult family time, but each one lived it from her own perspective and faith in God. And it is that that saying that suggests that everyone sees the glass half full or half empty, is experienced in those moments so vulnerable. Some household members were very desperate and almost to the point of depression. Instead, some of us had a relative calm, (I can't lie, I have also suffered a lot for not being able to do more, not being in Colombia to support the family) we took advantage of the time to organise groups of prayer and intercession to God. We were comforting the rest of the family. Now, we are all expectant, seeing the miracle every day from God and we see that divine support, despite everything that has been experienced so far.
“AND I KNOW THAT WHEN I COME TO YOU, I WILL COME WITH AN ABUNDANCE OF THE BLESSING OF THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST.”
Romans 15.29
Let us pray together: Loving God, you know perfectly well that for a long time I have prayed for a blessing for my family and specifically that this blessing be, that they declare you Lord and Saviour. Thank you that you will answer my prayer.
The Gospel of Christ is everything. As human beings, we do not need more than to accept Christ as King Saviour of our lives. When we allow the Mind of Christ to govern our actions, decisions, and situations, we can see the blessing in the midst of the curse. We begin to always see the glass half full and how, little by little, God overflows it and makes us live in great joy and hope placed in him.
“BUT I ASK YOU, BROTHERS, FOR OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST AND FOR THE LOVE OF THE SPIRIT, THAT YOU HELP ME BY PRAYING FOR ME TO GOD, SO THAT I MAY BE DELIVERED FROM THE REBELS WHO ARE IN JUDEA, AND THAT THE OFFERING OF MY SERVICE TO THE SAINTS IN JERUSALEM BE ACCEPTED; SO THAT IT MAY COME TO YOU WITH JOY BY THE WILL OF GOD, AND MAY IT BE RECREATED TOGETHER WITH YOU. AND THE GOD OF PEACE BE WITH YOU ALL. AMEN."
Romans 15.30-33
Let us pray together: Heavenly Father, in you alone I have delight and hope. Help me to pray for others the same way they pray for me. Allow my faith in you to grow every day and shadow others so that they to believe in you.
Yes, praying for one another is very powerful. Prayer to God is guided by God's own Spirit. The prayer that touches the heartstrings of God is the one in which we pray for others, that is, when we make noble prayers. The interesting thing about all this is that, after we have prayed and see the miracle of its response, all of us, together with God himself, will rejoice (as this version says, we will recreate ourselves) jointly to see how happy we are despite of what we are living.
God bless you. Remember to share this text to all the people you can.
