LIKE A MOTHER

There are people by our side who will pass without pain or glory.

I am very proud to have the parents I have. I love Bernardo and Fanny madly, my daddies. However, over the years, I have learned to love other people with the same feelings that I have towards my biological parents. For example, Pastors Antonio and Titi Selma are, for me, physical and spiritual fathers for everything they are doing with me. In the same way, I have a special feeling how Pastors Daniel and Rosita Chamorro were parents, for everything they did both for me and for my whole family. Therefore, whenever I can, I thank God for them and try to express my gratitude to them through my prayers before God.

“GREETE RUFO, A DISTINGUISHED BELIEVER, AND HER MOTHER, WHO HAS ALSO BEEN LIKE A MOTHER TO ME.”

Romans 16.13

Let us pray together: My God, these beautiful angels called dads I dedicate them to you once again, please give them health, prosperity and help them now that they are in their adulthood.

Just as the Apostle managed to develop that empathy towards Rufo's mother, we can also express love towards adults who have known how to take care of us, just as our own parents would. In other writings, I have expressed the love towards my paternal aunts for the care they had towards us, making us part of their lives. Similarly, I can speak of women in the congregations who have given us the same love, care and protection as they do with their own children.

Romans 16.14

Let us pray together: Heavenly Father, just as you are the only Dad we need, allow us to show the honor and love necessary for those who have given themselves for us and have known how to take care of our lives with the same sacrifice they make with their own children. 

Now, we all have a person who, without being our mom or dad, gives us that love, protection and care that we need. It is time to give them honor and show love for them. Let's not wait for it to be too late and maybe we can't give them the honor they deserve. Or perhaps, let us consider: are we like those "brothers who are with them" who are not remembered, nor is it necessary to mention them?
