What is the use of waiting so long in the Christian life?

BEING sure of the future will give us the confidence of knowing how to wait in Christ Jesus. Life itself is a constant struggle and after getting out of that fight, a new one awaits us. Therefore, being sure of the promises given by God is the certainty that guarantees us that we will have a better life than the one we live today. By living with a renewed mind and by being sure that who governs us is the Mind of Christ, we can guarantee what to do at the right time. At least that's what works for me and works. When I have to face an uncertain future, overcome those struggles of daily life, I hold on to the promise that Jesus Christ will return triumphant a second time. When I have to face a possible human loss of a close relative, I anchor myself to the promise that in the next life, we will all be together praising God for all eternity.

“HAVING SAID THIS, WHILE THEY WERE LOOKING ON HIM, HE WAS CARRIED UP ON HIGH UNTIL A CLOUD COVERED HIM FROM THEIR SIGHT.”

Acts 1. 9

Let us pray together: beloved Jesus Christ, you are my saviour and redeemer. Today you are ruling in my heart from the right side of the Heavenly Father. I give you my soul, body and mind so that you are ruling through your Mind and thus, your kingdom is extended.

Yes, Jesus of Nazareth was lifted up to heaven and today he is ruling seated at the right hand of God the Father. And part of the fulfilment of the promise that he will return a second time, we can evidence it in that his Holy Spirit rules in our hearts. Therefore, we can be confident that if we live with the Mind of Christ, it is the Spirit of Christ who directs our lives.

“THEY STAYED STARING AT THE SKY WHILE HE WENT AWAY. SUDDENLY, TWO MEN DRESSED IN WHITE APPROACHED THEM, WHO SAID TO THEM: GALILEOS, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE LOOKING AT THE SKY? THIS SAME JESUS, WHO HAS BEEN TAKEN FROM AMONG YOU TO HEAVEN, WILL COME AGAIN IN THE SAME WAY YOU HAVE SEEN HIM LEAVE.”

Acts 1.10-11

Let us pray together: Heavenly Father, all the desires from eternity have been fulfilled in your Son Jesus of Nazareth our Lord and Saviour. I know that he will return triumphant for each one of us and with that, we will live forever with the Father of all glory.

On a certain occasion they questioned me why I don't teach about the second coming of Jesus and I answered that it is not a subject that God sends me to preach. However, I am aware that he will have to return for his Church. Now, when he will do it, it is not up to me to answer that question. Jesus himself claimed that only Heavenly Father knows. For now, let's stay with the part that corresponds to us. Let us adore God, let us wait with joy for the return of Christ. Meanwhile, let's get busy extending the kingdom of Christ in season and out of season, because all humanity needs God's love.
