A GOOD MODEL

       What to do in the face of two difficult decisions?

THE problem will often be having up to three options. In other words, when we have a plan A, B, C, we will always have options to choose from. However, when we choose to have a plan A, we will give 100% of each one of us so that everything works out. But, what happens when an unforeseen event arises and we must solve it by applying a plan B, C, D or E? Obviously, my recommendation is to seek God in intimate prayer, so that he guides us through his Holy Spirit and gives us the appropriate response that will help us extend the Kingdom of Christ. Personally, I have to admit that there are many times that, although I pray fervently to God, I listen to my emotions first before obeying God. But God, who is faithful and true, makes his Word come true, which he says in me: And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, that is, to those who are called according to his purpose. 

"THUS THEY PROPOSED TWO: JOSEPH, CALLED BARSABAS, NICKNAMED THE JUST, AND MATHIAS."

Acts 1. 23

Let us pray together: Dear God, allow me to only listen to you and give glory to your Holy Name. Father, when you have to make tough decisions, let him do it before your altar, humiliated and prostrate at your feet.

The Apostles had to choose who should replace Judas. For this reason and following their own advice guided by the Holy Spirit, they chose between two good disciples of Christ. The Justo and Mathias, do not appear among the twelve that we usually know, but they were in the entire ministry of Jesus of Nazareth and of course, they were witnesses of the death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ. And faced with this dichotomy, the best option they had was to consult the Spirit of God to resolve said circumstance.

"AND THEY PRAYED LIKE THIS: LORD, YOU KNOW THE HEART OF EVERYONE, SHOW US WHICH OF THESE TWO YOU HAVE CHOSEN TO TAKE CHARGE OF THE APOSTOLIC SERVICE THAT JUDAS LEFT TO GO TO THE PLACE THAT RIGHTED HIM."

Acts 1.24-25

Let us pray together: Father God, you know how to choose and give the best for all of us. You gave yourself on the Cross of Calvary and you gave us eternal life. Help me not to fail others but that I can always measure up, just as it is, the stature of Christ.

When we can discover the result of who replaced Judas, we will say: “what a good job done”. The Apostles made an effort and gave the best of each one, that is, they obeyed God and consulted unanimously in prayer about what to do at such a conjuncture moment in which they were living. Let us take advantage of this good model given by the Apostles. Let us be faithful witnesses of Christ and always consult God about each of our affairs, even if what we must do is very daily. Let us not trust men or even ourselves, let us place all our trust in God and obey his words.
