WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN?

A good testimony is to be prudent.

I AM Pentecost according to what the evangelical doctrine dictates. Within this doctrine there are moderates and, logically, there are also extremists. Be that as it may, Pentecost is synonymous with giving absolute freedom to the Holy Spirit. That is to say, we speak in angelic tongues, we see physical healings in the cults and the liberation of demons, and there are prophecies, and many manifestations of the Holy Spirit, as many as he wishes to express in each of the cults. This scene is normal for all of us who are used to living it. However, for people who come to visit us for the first time, whether they are believers or not, the same question will always arise: what does it all mean? Preventing this same situation, the apostle recommended: If anyone believes himself to be a prophet or spiritual, he should recognize that what I am writing to you is the command of the Lord. If he doesn't recognise it, he won't be recognised either. So, my brethren, covet the gift of prophesying and do not forbid speaking in tongues. But everything must be done in a proper and orderly manner. Despite this, what happened in the first manifestation of the Holy Spirit over all humanity where this apostolic mandate did not exist?

  

"THEIR SURPRISE AND ASTONISHMENT OF HIM WERE SUCH, THAT THEY SAID: ARE NOT ALL THESE WHO ARE SPEAKING GALILEANS? HOW DID WE HEAR THEM SPEAKING IN OUR OWN LANGUAGES?"

Acts 2.7-8

Let us pray together: my God, before your power and majesty it is impossible to stay still or stand. How much more when I can feel and live your Holy Spirit working in me. In the same way, eternal God, I beg you, help me! Well, I want to be a witness even in the smallest and most intimate details.

Those people who surrounded the disciples were stunned, not knowing what to do or say. Therefore, the question arises: what does all this mean? Of course, it must be surprising to hear people of one nationality and one language speaking in multiple languages so that everyone hears the message of salvation. In the same way, it is not surprising that they question everything about each one of us. Since this will happen, our good testimony and knowing how to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit of God are very important.

 

“HERE ARE PEOPLE FROM PARTIAL, MEDIA, ELAM, MESOPOTAMIA, JUDEA, CAPPADOCIA, PONTO AND THE PROVINCE OF ASIA, PHRYGIA AND PANFILIA, EGYPT AND THE REGIONS OF LIBYA CLOSE TO CYRENE. THERE ARE ALSO PEOPLE FROM ROME WHO LIVE HERE; SOME ARE JEWS BY BIRTH AND OTHERS HAVE CONVERTED TO JUDAISM. THERE ARE ALSO COME FROM CRETE AND ARABIA. AND WE HEAR THEM SPEAKING IN OUR OWN TONGUES OF THE WONDERS OF GOD! EVERYONE WAS AMAZED AND NOT KNOWING WHAT TO THINK; AND THEY WONDERED: WHAT DOES ALL THIS MEAN?”

Acts 2.9-12

Let us pray together: Beloved Father, I burn with desire to enjoy eternity surrounded by people from all over the world showing our love for you, singing, and giving glory to your Holy Name. Now, I am here willing to be enjoying the humanity that corresponds to me to worship you, my God.

This last biblical verse reminds me of the text from which my ministerial calling is based: Then I was ordered: You must return to prophesy about many peoples, nations, languages, and kings. All human beings who believe in Christ have a calling and we must fulfill it. The best way to properly develop this mandate is to cling like a burning nail to the power of the Holy Spirit, allowing ourselves to be guided and instructed by him at all times.
