CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL
FULFILLED THE PROMISE
Our words have incredible power.
DON´T make promises we can't keep. If we could calculate the number of absurd promises we make throughout our lives, we would simply not say them. For example, I love you so much that I would lower you to the moon. Another very typical thing we do as children: I will love you forever. In this same lane, how moms and dads make incredible promises to our children even though we are aware that we will not be able to keep them. A vacation trip to a paradisiacal island, a sociocultural lifestyle out of our reach, killing the monster of nightmares, and a very long etc. They are innocent promises, but in many cases, counterproductive both for us and for the children. In this way, we begin to present ourselves as liars and defaulters in front of our children. Another factor that we do not take into account is that, for children, we are the first image of God they will have. So, if they get used to their parents who only lie and don't keep their promises, it may be that they see God the Father in the same way, a God who lies and breaks what he said.
“AFTER HAVING BEEN EXALTED AND PLACED BY GOD AT HIS RIGHT HAND AND HAVING RECEIVED FROM THE FATHER THE HOLY SPIRIT THAT HAD PROMISED US, HE, IN TURN, POURED IT OUT ON US. THAT IS WHAT YOU HAVE SEEN AND HEARD."
Acts 2.33
Let us pray together: Heavenly Father, the saying goes that you are not a human being to lie or deceive anyone. Therefore, everything you have promised you has already been fulfilled through your Son Jesus Christ. Thank you so much for your love, mercy and power poured out on me through your Holy Spirit.
Yes, God is not a human being to lie. God is faithful and if he said he would do it, surely God will fulfil it if he has not already fulfilled it. We can be confident that all the promises given by God in the Old Testament, he fulfilled his promises in Jesus of Nazareth, therefore, today we can be sure of our salvation, redemption, healing and eternal life because we have accepted Jesus Christ as God himself. As a consequence of this, of the acceptance of the divinity of Jesus of Nazareth, he poured out his Holy Spirit, his own Spirit on us fulfilling himself, what he promised.
“FOR IT WAS NOT DAVID WHO ASCENDED TO HEAVEN; FOR HE SAID: THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD: SIT AT MY RIGHT UNTIL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES YOUR FOOTSTOOL."
Acts 2.34-35
Let us pray together: Dear God, what a great peace of mind it is to know that you make your promises come true. I know that I will be with you for all eternity enjoying being with you but also enjoying the new earth and the new sky, accompanied by all your children. I praise you, my God.
Our life testimony is vital for many people who are around us. Therefore, it is important that everything we promise, we fulfil. If we make a promise to a child, for being a child, let's keep that promise. In the same way, if we make a promise to an adult, because we are adults let's keep it. And of course, if we make a promise to God, we will not delay in fulfilling it. Because God fulfilled the promise that he gave us long before we existed.
