THEY ACTED LIKE THIS OUT OF IGNORANCE
It is not about what you expect but about God's will.
FALSE expectations are very detrimental to our lives. A clear consequence is the frustration of waiting for something that will never come and, when it comes, it is not as we had thought. Let me explain, when we are children we are intensely influenced by our parents, and this is good in itself, the bad thing arises when those influences make us study medicine when we dislike blood. When these influences make us believe that marriages are "lived happily and ate partridges", when in reality there is a fight between the spouses almost every day and on many occasions, we will eat a bowl of delicious rice with eggs and slices. In the same way, when we incorrectly teach biblical interpretations, we provoke false expectations in God's people that God does not have to fulfil. This happened to the Jewish people and to us today, to each of us.
“BY FAITH IN THE NAME OF JESUS, HE HAS RESTORED THIS MAN WHOM YOU SEE AND KNOW. THIS FAITH THAT COMES THROUGH JESUS HAS HEALED HIM COMPLETELY, AS YOU KNOW."
Acts 3, 16.
Let us pray together: Father God, I am before your presence to adore and exalt you forever. Dear God, in the name of Christ, please, break all mental structures that make you a God to my measure and with that, I stop doing your will. God, help me to reach the stature of Christ.
The Jewish people created a god in his image and wanted the True God to act according to the heart they had. Why did they act like this? Unfortunately, the Jews learned from the scribes that the Messiah would be a deliverer, a leader just like David, or any of the Judges of old. For this reason, at the triumphant entrance to Jerusalem, they cheered: "Blessed is he who comes in the Name of the Lord, peace on earth." Yet eight days later these same disenchanted, frustrated and disillusioned human beings are shouting “Crucify him, crucify him”. And it is that creating false expectations will lead us to love, but, when confronted with reality, it will lead us to hate what we loved a second ago.
"NOW, BROTHERS, I KNOW THAT YOU AND YOUR LEADERS ACTED SO OUT OF IGNORANCE."
Acts 3, 17
Let us pray together: Jesus of Nazareth, your image is the one I must yearn for. I can't have another role model. Only you, Jesus of Nazareth, fill my life and make it a testimony for other human beings to reach your feet. Help me every day, because honestly, I fail a lot.
We act out of ignorance, yes, we do and it is impossible to try to deny it. God is sovereign and God will act according to his will and not according to our wishes and whims. God is faithful and true, above all, God is not a human being to lie and he promised that the Messiah would be Davidic, but that his kingdom would be eternal, therefore, this fulfilment was given through the crucifixion of Jesus and, affirmed by the resurrection of Jesus from the dead and reaffirmed through the heavenly coronation of Jesus Christ sitting at the right hand of God the Father and today, Jesus Christ lives in each of us by pouring out his Holy Spirit on all those who have believed in him. Do not be deceived by ignorance anymore, believe in Jesus Christ and you will be saved.
God bless you. Remember to share this text with as many people as possible.
