CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL
TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY
Joseph became prime minister because of his faithfulness to God.
IT´S not bad that it doesn't come for good! my old mum shouts. According to the biblical texts it is said: "Now, we know that God arranges all things for the good of those who love him, those who have been called according to his purpose", Rom. 8, 28. In the previous study it was said that the persecution of the Church of Christ is not something new and, contrary to what is considered, this persecution will increase more and more. That is to say, although we pray and cry out to God to free us from this harassment and God does it, this siege must be given so that the divine plans for the Church of Jesus Christ are fulfilled. Now, what will be the attitude taken in the face of such a harsh situation? And the answer to it will make the difference between being a winner or continuing to drag a hard load uphill, because, the word of God, in that same chapter of Romans says: However, in all this, we are more than winners through the one who loved us, Rom. 8, 37.
"THEY SEIZED PETER AND JOHN AND, AS IT WAS ALREADY EVENING, THEY PUT THEM IN JAIL UNTIL THE NEXT DAY."
Acts 4, 3
Let's pray together: Daddy God, here I am, I don't know what to do or how to do it, but what I do know is that your love, grace and mercy for me is so great, that you sent your Son Jesus Christ to die for me on the Cross of Calvary and that your Holy Spirit lives in me and will give me enough strength and strategies to take advantage of all the opportunities that you, oh God, give me.
Peter and John are on their way to jail. They, the apostles, will be deprived of their freedom for speaking the truth and doing exactly the will of God. However, they made the most of that moment and gave the best of themselves despite the circumstances they were experiencing. In the same way, when you read the story of Joseph in the AT, in the book of Genesis (chapter 30:22-24; chapters 37 and from 39 to 50), it is understood that Joseph knew how to take advantage of each of the opportunities that God gave him so these were bad for his life.
"BUT MANY OF THOSE WHO HEARD THE MESSAGE BELIEVED, AND THE NUMBER OF THEM WAS ABOUT FIVE THOUSAND."
Acts 4, 4
Let us pray together: Jesus of Nazareth, in your earthly time, you always did the will of the Heavenly Father and this led you to be judged, sentenced, and crucified. But God took advantage of that opportunity to redeem all humanity and give human beings the opportunity to live an eternal life together with you. Help me to be more like you. Help me extend Heaven's kingdom and take your gospel to all nations.
Amen
5,000 people believed in the freedom message of Jesus of Nazareth. 5000 people in one day accepted the will of God the Father because two unique human beings did not let themselves be intimidated by the persecution they were suffering and found the divine strategy to follow. 5000 souls enjoying the eternal presence of God. 5000 people are quite an enviable figure that at least has to cause a feeling of a challenge to reach more people with the message of salvation in Jesus Christ despite the persecution, the violence, and the siege that the Church of Christ may be enduring. Please, one cannot remain licking wounds, in any case, one must go ahead despite... let's remember the example of Jesus of Nazareth and if in any case, this is too high for the conception of the mind, let's keep in mind recounts the sufferings of the apostle Paul: Me more; in works more abundant; in lashes without number; in jails more; in danger of death many times. Five times from the Jews I have received forty lashes minus one. Three times I have been beaten with rods; once stoned; three times I have suffered shipwreck; one night and one day I have been shipwrecked on the high seas; on roads many times; in dangers of rivers, dangers of thieves, dangers of those of my nation, dangers of the Gentiles, dangers in the city, dangers in the desert, dangers at sea, dangers among false brothers; in work and fatigue, in many sleeplessness, in hunger and thirst, in many fasts, in cold and naked; and in addition to other things, what overwhelms me every day, the concern for all the churches. Who gets sick, and I am not sick? Who is made to stumble, and I am not indignant?, 2 Cor. 11, 23-29
God bless you. Remember to share this text with as many people as possible.
